In 1861, Charles Krug, the visionary father of Napa Valley winemaking, established the winery that started it all. The Mondavi Family purchased this already iconic estate in 1943, and for over seventy five years and four generations they have been passionately perfecting an enduring legacy for those generations still to come.Grapes are sourced from five family estate vineyards in Yountville. The 2016 is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec aged for fourteen to eighteen months in French oak. This Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon has flavors of ripe black cherry, blackberry and black currant with hints of dried blueberry and cocoa. A sturdy structure and generous black fruits lend definition to a long, memorable finish. Pair this wine with charcuterie and firm cows milk cheeses or grilled hangar steak with chimichurri.
